Soul Reborn by Jean Murray

Soul Reborn is Jean Murray's first release and let me just say that it was fantastic. No joke, I read it twice. I'm completely enamored with books that revolve around mythology. That being said, I have never had the privilege of reading one centered around the Egyptian Pantheon. I feel very deprived now that I know what I was missing.

Lilly Carrigan is a Nehebkau Huntress charged with protecting humanity from zombie-like creatures called Revens. Contrarily, Asar is the God of the Underworld forced to consume human souls due to some dastardly deeds by a not so nice goddess. Asar's ex-lover Kepi, in a brutal act of betrayal cut out his heart...literally. The now soulless god is out for vengeance. Kepi is hell-bent on destroying the world forcing Lilly and Asar to ban together to thwart her brutal annihilation.

The first installment of what is shaping up to be a fabulous trilogy, Soul Reborn is an amazing read. Murray is a great author. Her ability to make the reader empathize with her characters is demonstrative of her impressive talent. Looking forward to her next installment. 5 slippers.

Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh

This is my first review for my blog, so prepare to be amazed as I am about to rock your world...just saying. I've decided to write about the latest installation in one of my favorite series by one of my favorite authors. I recently met Ms. Nalini Singh at a book signing in Roseville, California. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. In fact, I was so excited I literally forgot how to speak and was slightly devastated after the glorious event. However, Ms. Singh was funny and completely charming and to be perfectly honest, I think I might have a bit of a crush.

Kiss of Snow is an absolutely phenomenal book. I love Hawke and Sienna and have been waiting (not at all patiently) for their story ever since I was first introduced to them. I'm happy to say that this book far exceeded all expectations and trust me, they were astronomically high.

In this the 10th installment of the Psy/Changeling series, Sienna Lauren is all grown up -- a fact that Hawke the SnowDancer Alpha is trying desperately to ignore. With the Psy Council self destructing and Silence crumbling, the Changelings and their allies are in more danger than ever before. Having learned from previous attempts, the Psy extremists launch attacks that come frighteningly close to eradicating two of the most powerful and influential Changeling packs. Meanwhile, Sienna is determined not only to get her volatile powers under control, but also to force Hawke into acknowledging the sizzling attraction between them. Utilizing some decidedly wolfish tactics to achieve these goals, you can't help but root for this extraordinary woman.

A deliciously unexpected sub-plot follows Walker Lauren, Sienna's Uncle, on a Romantic quest of his own. I will say that I was slightly disappointed Walker didn't get his own book simply because I love him so very much. This book will evoke every emotion on the spectrum and then some. I highly recommend it and happily give it 5 glass slippers.

Anxiously awaiting the next installment...

Blogging Virgin No Longer

So I'm pretty new to the whole blogging scene. Mostly because technology in any form recognizes my complete inability to conquer anything with batteries. It is my secret hope to one day retaliate with minion trolls armed with potato guns. That being said, I've decided to tackle this blogging thing and make it my bitch. Which brings me to what I will blog about; I love reading and judging things which leads to a blog the likes of which have never been seen before. ( excepting of course, all the other review type blogs) This is my first official post making me a blogging virgin no longer.
